This was part of a large project undertaken by us. A retaining boundary wall was required to hold back earth excavations created by the addition of a new dwelling. A new wide foundation caged in steelwork and a retaining wall was constructed from nine inch hollow concrete blocks tied to the foundation with rebar and fully concreted once in situ.
The walling was then cloaked with approximately 20 tonnes of cotswold natural stone. The length of the wall was in circa of 45 linear metres with heights varying from 1.2m to 3.5 metres and surrounding the new dwelling from the side rear and front elevations. Due to the height of the large flank wall, an archway and tax window were introduced to soften the vast amount of stonework and make it more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
